Judge Mrs Irmgard De Haan De Levie (Ruempol)

First of all, I want to thank the Committee of the Show to have chosen me as the Judge of this event.

Second, I appreciated the Sportsmanship of everybody, who accepted my decisions.

 

I was amazed by the quality of the hounds, there were many typical Irish Wolfhounds with a lovely movement, specially from the side, but sometimes also disappointing when they went up and down: toeing in and narrow at the rear, even some which were too wide in front.

 

I also found some with a lighter eye, which spoils the soft expression.

 

Overall the bite was correct (not too narrow underjaws), but I was amazed to find small elements instead of big ones: KILLING A WOLF needs great elements!

The coats of most of the hounds were nice: harsh and crispy.

 

Temperaments were fine, the one or two which were laid-back and still young, I would advise take them with you whenever possible, specially to places with many people.

 

My BOB and BOS were from the same litter and the same owner. I was very impressed by their quality: very muscled, but só light-footed !!! a credit to their owner. When going around, they hardly touched the ground, but flying around the ring.

Minor Puppy dog
1st Murray, Sade Aryasson at Sabata, Nice dark brindle with lovely head and soft expression, nice depth of chest, good bone and feet, needs more training on the leash in order to show his quality.
2nd Cole & Sexton, Pennybright Thaddeus for Culkeeran. Nice puppy with good body, bone and feet. Nice coat texture, friendly character, unfortunately he is slightly limping on right rear.

Puppy Dog
1st Dawson, Austonleys Falcon of Shalico. 10 months fawn boy with lovely head and expression, nice folded ears, black lips and rims round the eyes, strong neck very nice top and underline, nice depth of chest, ex croup, strong bone and feet, moved very light footed covering a lot of ground. Best Puppy

2nd Pateman, Gaeltarra Eirann Galen. 10 months nice brindle, good head and expression, nice neck and shoulders, very nice depth of chest, good bone and feet, moved well.
3rd Lynch & Taylor. Gaeltarra Eirann Watson

Junior Dog
1st Braine. Hollyhenge Black Russian. Dark brindle, good head and expression ears could be better folded, correct bite, good neck and top line, good bone and feet, nice deep chest a bit short in loin, correct angulation front and rear, moved very well from both sides.
2nd Crawford & Poole, Stonestorm Fraoch from Marlaw. Good head and ear carriage, eyes too round, difficult to go over him did not stand, moved well.

Yearling Dog
1st Sumner, Ballyphelan Amadeus. Dark brindle, good head would like a darker eye, correct mouth, nice neck and shoulders placement, correct top and underline, good bone, feet could be stronger, correct croup and tailset, nice bend of stifle, moved very well from all sides, good coat texture.
2nd Das Purkayastha, Ballyphelan Asansol among Neckrebagh. Dark brindle, good head, looked afraid? Although behaved well, correct bite, well built body, good bone and feet, moved very well.
3rd Hanlon, Ranfurley Prince

Post Graduate Dog
1st Redfern, Goldswift Fluke at Rainster. Dark brindle with a lovely head and expression, good bite, correct neck and shoulders, nice forechest, very deep brisket, nice top-underline with width over the loin, very well muscled, very nice movement.
2nd Ritchie, Broughadowey Raiden at Torrfionn. Nice head and expression, correct folded ears, very good top and underline, nice forechest, bone and feet, could do with more tuckup, correct croup and tailset, nice angulation front and rear, lost to one due to front movement.
3rd Evans-Jones & Halsall, Valheru Magnus Maximus
Limit Dog

1st Addington, Ravensbeech Comitas of Wolvebrigg, Dark grey lovely male with a wonderful head and ear carriage, nice front and rear, very deep chest, well fed!!! Correct angulation front and rear, well-muscled, moved very well.
2nd Das Purkayastha, Ravensbeech Romanus among Neckrebagh. Dark brindle with a shade light eye colour, would love stronger teeth (on the small side) excellent front, good bone and feet, nice deep chest, correct top and underline, moved well
3rd Locket, Amarach Ainle.

Open Dog
1st Bogart, Mascotts Conquistado at Incitatus. Brindle with nice head and expression, would prefer a stronger muscled neck, enough forechest, good bone, a bit flat on his front feet, nice top and underline, good deep chest, correct angulated rear, good coat, moved well from the side a bit narrow rear movement.
2nd Severn-Kumar, Gaelmarque Melton Say. Smaller male who could do with more grooming, shorter head than first also straighter in front although well angulated rear, not enough tuck up, side movement okay, wide in front.
3rd Treadwell, Glengail Ggilmour at Floydian

Veteran Dog
1st Gilbert, Madiamoy King Arold Returns to Anstyarna. 8 yr old cream male with an excellent head, well folded ears, very deep chest, lots of bone, correct top and underline, well-muscled and angulated rear, moved very well, in tip top condition, a tribute to his owners.

Champion Dog
1st Amoo, Ch. Sade Brutus. Brindle built on a big frame, lovely head and expression, excellent forechest bone and feet, excellent top and underline, nice strong thigh and 2nd thigh, low hocks, his movement was exquisite, a real stallion, well handled by his owner. Dog CC Res Best in Show
2nd Tebbutt, Ch Caredig Caradog. Dark brindle with a very masculine head, correct neck and shoulders, nice forechest, correct bone and feet, nice top and underline, correct croup, well angulated front and rear, moved very well from all sides. Res Dog CC
3rd Pinkney, Ch Hydebeck Imperial Ruler

Minor Puppy Bitch
1st Holder & Howe, Sade Anaya Mascotts. Dark brindle with a very nice head, very good neck and shoulders, good bone and feet, did not hold her top line on the move yet, too playful, very promising.
2nd Sumner, Dukesarum Peg. Brindle, nice type, pleasant head, shade light eye, good front, nice bone and feet, standing still she had a nice topline, on the move she carried her tail too high which spoiled her outline.
3rd Sumner, Dukesarum Meg.

Puppy Bitch
1st Gilbert, Anstyarna Que Cera Cera. Brindle, very nice head and expression, excellent bite, deep chest, good bone and feet, body very well-muscled, on the move she curls her tail.

Junior Bitch
1st Sumner, Dukesarum Lillibet. Very nice typical bitch puppy of the old-fashioned type, very nice feminine head, nice forechest, good bone and feet, very good top and underline, moved very well with a long strid. Promising.
2nd Evans-Jones & Halsall, Valheru Dream of Rhonabwy. Tall bitch maybe a bit masculine, nice head and expression, good front, bone and feet, rather straight topline, moved very well.
3rd Pateman, Hollyhenge Barcille Ball

Yearling Bitch
1st Sumner, Ballyphelan Anna Lisa. Very attractive bitch of excellent type, nice head would like a shade darker eye, well carried ears, very nice top and underline, very nice depth of chest, good bone and feet, well-muscled, lovely mover. Res CC
2nd Addington, Wolfhouse Daviniah of Wolvebrigg. Hounds type, nice feminine head, good neck and shoulders, sufficient forechest, good bone and feet, nice top and underline, well angulated front and rear, nice mover.
3rd Dalehouse, Nebraska Ionmhain Norman at Newdigate.

Novice Bitch
1st Redfern, Rainster Izzy. Grey brindle, nice type, would prefer a more feminine head, nice forechest bone and feet, good top and underline but too well fed, nice croup, well angulated, well-muscled body, moved very well from all sides.
2nd Harmer, Comdias All About Hope For Ballanroo. Brindle with very pleasing head, good front, bone and feet, nice depth of chest, top and underline, lacked on movement from first because of her front action.
3rd Severn -Kumar, Goldswift Serendipity.

2nd Evans - Jones & Halsall, Valhera Rayna. Tall well-developed bitch, pleasant head and expression, nice forechest, good bone and feet, nice depth of chest, top and underline, well-muscled body, moved well.
3rd Severn -Kumar, Goldswift Destiny of Gaelmarque.

Limit Bitch
1st Sumner, Dukesarum Chiara. Grey brindle of the old-fashioned type, very nice head, excellent body with good bone and feet, well-muscled, moved very well.
2nd Bradley, Glengail Gwendolyn. Dark brindle with very nice head and expression, good bone and feet, very deep chest, good top and underline, nice croup, well-muscled, moved light footed.
3rd Tebbutt, Caredig Angelina

Open Bitch
1st Cramphorn, Yelxba Victoria SHCM. Dark brindle old-fashioned type with a pleasing head, nice depth of chest, good top and underline, good bone and feet, correct angulation front and rear, moved well.
2nd Gilbert, Anstyarna Lilli Marleen. Brindle girl with pleasing head, good bone and feet, correct top and underline, good bone and feet, correct angulation front and rear, moved well.
3rd Pinkney, Ch Hydebeck Ruler of the Stars.

Veteran Bitch
seven entered and only one absent, when I judge veterans, I always get goosepimples, they are so special and we should treasure them.
1st Bridges, Bribiba’s Lycoris Black over Barassy. 8 yr old black brindle with a feminine head, correct neck and shoulders, very good front and rear, well boned, deep chest, excellent mover for her age, a credit to her owners. Best Veteran
2nd McDonald -Ulliott & Holder, Hibeck Miss Dior. 7 yr old brindle with a very nice head and expression, good forechest, bone and feet, nice depth of chest and moved light footed around the ring, also a credit to her owners.
3rd Stayte, Doolalley’s Magic Lace at Carwenwy.

Champion Bitch
1st Amoo, Ch Sade Prudence. Only 3 years old and covered with plaudits from many judges, dark brindle with a wonderful feminine head and expression, strong neck and shoulders, excellent forechest, bone and feet, very nice top and underline, excellent depth of chest, nice width over the loin, well-muscled thigh and second thigh and the movement, she is flying around the ring and one cannot even hear her footsteps, so light footed, she deserved her CC and Best in Show. Congratulation on this example of the breed.
